Many Values to Multiple Variables

Python allows you to assign values to multiple variables in one line:

python

val_1, val_2, z = "Orange", "Banana", "Cherry"print(val_1)print(val_2)print(z)

Note: Note: Make sure the number of variables matches the number of values, or else you will get an error.

And you can assign the same value to multiple variables in one line:

python

val_1 = val_2 = z = "Orange"print(val_1)print(val_2)print(z)

If you have a collection of values in a list, tuple etc. Python allows you to extract the values into variables. This is called unpacking.

fruits = ["apple", "banana", "cherry"]
val_1, val_2, z = fruits
print(val_1)
print(val_2)
print(z)
